First Steps

Let The Games Begin!

Important

Playing with a squad? No? That's fine as the Easter Egg is relatively simple and doesn't require multiple people to complete. However, you may want to find more people to help you out if you find yourself struggling.

You start off the game by spawning at the Pack-A-Punch platform at the center of the map. If you're a master at Zombies, you're already sprinting around looking for zombies to kill. If not, that's perfectly fine. Usually, the objective of the game is to survive for as many rounds as possible and to get a high score. Rinse and Repeat. This is not your goal. As an Easter Egg hunter, your job is to complete the steps to achieve the Easter Egg as fast as possible. You might be thinking, "Well does it really matter when I do each step? Can't I just take my time and finish at my own pace?" The answer is both Yes and No and I'll be explaining this in further detail later on.

Your goal in the starting rounds is to make as much money, or score, as much as possible. This is essential to getting around the map and surviving. Everything you come across, from doors to new areas of the map to weapons on the wall, will cost you money so it's best to start building it up early. There's no set amount of money you should have right now, but just try to keep in mind the following things as you start.

Professional Zombie Killer

Everytime you start a game, you'll begin with the standard MR6 Pistol and 500 points. If you feel you need another weapon as a backup, there's a burst-fire RK5 pistol down the stairs. If pistols aren't your forte, there's a Shieva rifle along the wall to pick up as well. These weapons both cost 500 and are easy to get kills with starting out, but they can also easily dig into your money supply and set you back progress-wise.

Let's assume you're feeling brave and you've stuck with your starting pistol. It won't last you very long because of its low damage and ammo, but it's effective at racking up points. Zombies will always spawn in an outside area of the map behind a window of barricades. These barricades won't last long though as the zombies will tear them down over time and try to hit you. Obviously this is bad, so you should try to defend yourself.

You can either shoot a zombie, knife it, or throw a grenade at it and hope you don't blow yourself up. Let's skip the grenades as they're virtually useless this early on. The simple way to kill a zombie is to shoot it. But we're not going to do this the simple way. Remember, the goal is to score as many points as possible. So for the first few rounds you're going to use the following method to kill zombies:

Tip!

Body Shot - 10 Points
Normal Kill - 50 Points
Headshot Kill - 100 Points
Knife Kill - 130 Points

Important

Zombies can take as many knife slashes as the round you're on. Round 1 zombies take 1 knife, Round 2 take 2 knives, etc. This means this technique is not advised on higher rounds unless you prefer a quick death!

Meet Condor, my assistant for this tutorial! As he wildy shoots at a zombie in front of him, I show you how to kill a zombie for maximum points.

It's possible to get more points by shooting the zombie to death, but you're also using up more of your precious ammo. You can also knife the zombie for an instant kill, but you definitely can get more points another way. By shooting a zombie 4 times in the body and then knifing it, you maximize your points and can progress at a faster rate through the map.

Powering The Facility

The first real step of the Easter Egg is to turn on the power in the facility. Besides allowing you to progress through this tutorial, this also opens up many other opportunities to power yourself up with weapons and perks, so naturally you'll want to reach the power ASAP.

From the starting area, there are two doors on opposite sides of each other that both eventually loop around the map. They also both lead to the power. You may choose to take whichever route you like since both routes have wall weapons and doors with increasing costs to open. Keep in mind that you will eventually have to open every door on the map to complete the Easter Egg, so it's a good idea to become familiar with the routes you have available to you as you progress.

Eventually, you'll reach an open area with a raised bridge. Drop down and head to the generator. There will be a switch with a severed hand on one side of it (*insert hand pun*). Pull the switch and the power will turn on. Now the real fun begins!
